Dr. Belcher is dedicated to treating with Chiropractic Adjusting Instruments.  This particular method of Chiropractic targets dysfunctional spinal joints to relieve pain and improve joint function.  Dr. Belcher believes this method achieves better results and is a safer and more effective way to manage symptoms.

Description of Adjusting Instrument:  This device is hand held and delivers a fast, well controlled thrust, introducing movement into a joint that may be stiff and misaligned.  This process improves joint function relieving pain and stiffness.

What does it feel like?  The patient lies face down comfortably while the area needing adjustment is identified.  During the adjustment the patient will feel a light tapping sensation in the area being adjusted.  There is no jerking, twisting or "cracking".  Many patients feel immediate pain relief and improved mobility after just one adjustment.  For more detailed information on the adjusting technique visit www.activator.com or www.goimpulse.com.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation is used to reduce muscle spasm and inflammation.  This treatment stimulates blood supply and lymphatic flow further reducing pain and accelerating the healing process.  Electrodes are placed over the area of involvement and a tingling sensation is felt.  Dr. Belcher uses a pulsed high voltage galvanic current that has a well established treatment proctocol.

Cervical Spine Long-Axis Traction is used to gently stretch the neck to relieve pain and improve function.  Traction increases circulation to the muscles, expands the joint space and reduces nerve compression.  This treatment helps with cervical disc involvement, pinched nerves, osteoarthritis, neck sprains/strains, and joint dysfunction.

Myofascial release and Trigger Point Therapy is performed with an instrument called "The Stick".  This instrument locates and treats dysfunctional areas of the muscle/fascia/tendon.  Dr. Belcher uses "The Stick" in the office, however, it is designed for self use.  With a few minutes of instruction, one can perform sophisticated soft tissue therapy anytime.  We are factory direct distributors of "The Stick".  For more information on "The Stick" visit www.Intracell.net.

Cervical spine decompression is used when there are clinical signs of neck compression.  The therapeutic value is similar to that of traction.
